Introducing SkyCrypt V4

DA
DarthGigi

We are thrilled to release the next major update to SkyCrypt. This one is about the overall design of SkyCrypt.

New UI

We've overhauled the design in order to make the design:

  • More clear where a part of information starts and ends
  • Feel more modern
  • More consistent

One thing that was the most important while updating our design is to make it still feel and look like SkyCrypt, and we think we nailed it on that part.

Tooltips also got an overhaul, making it way more easier to both read and scan the information in them; some of them now also have a bit of color added to them when deemed fit.

Themes

Unfortunately, we had to deprecate our official themes as it has become a burden to keep them up-to-date since I (Gigi) am the only one working on the frontend part of SkyCrypt.

However, what's not being deprecated is our Theme Editor, where you can make your own themes, import themes made by others, and share your custom themes.

If you really miss our official themes, we have exported them in our Discord server where you can click a link to import them. You would need to fix anything that looks off yourself though.

P.S. We are planning to add a Theme Browser soon-ish where you can share and discover themes by you and other people

New Features

While we were working on the redesign Hypixel has of course not stopped adding new features, and we've been keeping up-to-date with them:

  • Added Loadouts to the gear section
  • Added Equipment to the gear section
  • Added the Official Hypixel pack to packs
    • All stat icons now use the official pack. If the official pack does not have an icon for a stat, it falls back to the default Minecraft icons (how it was previously).

QOL Features

There were a few features that were long overdue:

  • Packs can now be reordered!
  • The global stats list has been updated. This means that we can now display all stats that have been added since the rift update (3 years ago).
  • Dark/Light mode are no longer separate themes and are toggled by a button now.
    • By default, it detects your system theme and switches accordingly
  • In performance mode, the main background stays blurred and visually identical to non-performance mode without decreasing performance. So you can still enjoy some of the beauty of our design even if in performance mode.

Footnote

As with any big change, there will be bugs and things that are looking off. If you discover any, please join our discord to report them.

Feel free to also share your thoughts about the new design and any improvements if needed.

We would also like to thank all the people who participated in the V4 beta testing, your reports, opinions and suggestions were very helpful!

We can't wait to share the next thing we are working on right now, which shouldn't take too long now; so keep an eye out :)
